So yeah, today marks the occasion where my new 2008 chevy malibu ltz goes from 40k to shit in about 5 seconds.
Some nutjob decided to merge over, problem is, I was already in that lane...
I slam my breaks as my car is shoved aside, trying to avoid fishtailing as I made it safely into the turning lane for a old folks home.
Then the bastard drives off, just gone. I wait three miniuets, thinking they would turn around and come back. Then got my first use out of the emergency onstar service I have. Then waited 20mins for a cop to show up and make the report.
*sigh* Some people, you know, its better to take the blame than to drive off. A hit and run is a lot more severe than having your insurance paying for two doors and a back side pannle.
Its a felony, up to 5 years in jail folks. A felony or a slight increase in your insurance payments, its kind of a no brainer.

When you get your 600$ bucks from the goverment starting monday of next week, keep in mind to account for your own personal finances.
The checks are sent out as a means to prevoke the populace to spend it and hopefully put a boost into the American economy. However, this plan is fatly on the account that the average American is already in debt in some form or another due to this kind of incorrect thinking.
A six hundred buck check is virtualy an invintation to go out and spend MORE than the 600 you are given, to further strive the economy beyond the initial 'allowance' the goverment is giving us.
Because as we all know, when most people get a gift card, they almost always wind up spending more money than whats on the gift card itself. They get the 'free' money and don't consider that overspending will do much more harm to thier situation, because they have 'free' money.
Its like handing a homeless drunk a 20 and expecting him to spend it all on food and not booze and drugs that got him homeless in the first place.
The average person will take the 600 bucks and spend it all, and then some because thier already on a spending spree because of the 600 'allowance' they recived. This is a very dangerous thing for people that are already in debt, the last thing they need to be doing is being encouraged to spend more money they already do not have in the first place.
What I recommend is takeing that 600 'allowance' and paying off some of your debt, help yourself first, you are your own priority! And if the goverment's missmanagement decides to try and delude itself by sending you cash to prevoke you to spend it. Then do so at your own bennifit. If you are in debt, use it to help yourself out of it. Debt is the bigger issue America faces, regardless of how the goverment continues to attempt to delude itself otherwise.
However, if your finances are in line, and you owe no debt, then I suggest buying food. Yes. I said food. Not some new shinny electronic gizmo you may use once and then toss into the corner with the rest of the garbage you don't use. Caned goods, pastas, rice and other foods that have a long shelf life, meats are good as well so long as you keep them frozen untill needed. I say food for a particular reason.
For one, you need it. Thats obvious to any moron, however, at the same time as buying this food, chances are that money is going back into the American industry rather than to say, oh China and Japan. Not that I have anything against either country, but the stimulius payment is to help the US, not Japan just because they made some shinny new TV thats a mear 1 inch bigger than the one you already have. Or China because of some new Barbi doll that was made in a underage sweat shop.
Another option, as always, is to put it into saveings, stocks or bonds, and if any reasoning is needed on that then your beyond my help.
When you get the check, put your needs first. |

So I was thinking, and as random as things go, an interesting question popped into my head. This is for the science geeks kids...
Ok, so we all know the basic theories on black holes. Specifically the probable effect on the space-time the closer to the singularity we get. Time slows down as space-time becomes warped by the gravitational pull.
Now, take into account that there is substantial evidence that says the center of our galaxy, and other galaxies, are super massive black holes.
Ok, so then knowing these two aspects, would this not mean that time, as we perceive it, is faster in comparison to systems closer to the super massive black hole, and slower to systems further from the center?
Has time as perceived on earth changed as we swirl around the singularity for eons? Speed up or slowed down preceptivly? Is it possible that time itself, when related to black holes as a perspective passing, is controlled by the very fundamental gravitational force we all take for granted? Or just so excessively ply-able that our very perception of time is just as vulnerable as the fabric of time itself?
Is there a point in which the center of a super massive black hole, where time itself simply ceases to exist? And outside of our galaxy, just how fast does time pass when not affected by a singularity?
It just seemed like a very interesting concept to me just out of the blue spaciousness of my unoccupied mind.

So...the Lumina finnly passed emissions.
After spending close to a thousand bucks on the thing, which is ok...runninfg condition the car is worth 3k to me (assuming I were to sell it) since I know I can get a good whiles use out of it yet, the remaned heads should be good for 40 thousand miles, new EGR, MAP, MAT, plugs wires..yada yada. Outside some heat damage to the hood's clear coat (from the engine overheating) the body is in almost new condition, which I supose is rare for a car of its age. But the clear coat could be easily repaired by re-painting the hood.
That is if I cared to paint it, meh, three peel spots I dont give a flip for, the paints still there so its not gonna rust.
Silly thing passed on a 120 or 120 allowment on hydrocarbons, so talk about right on the borderline there.
Also, my PC is back to almost normal, for thoes unknowing the HD's decided to start dying, at first I thought it was the OS corupting, but after a couple reinstalls of windows and some disk tool checks, yeah..
So I have a 320gig HD for the OS and programs and such, and something I've been meaning to get for quite some time now.
A SATA drive, 320gigs itself as well. This is for my games and such where I need the extra preformace push, and there is a good noticible diffrence in the timming of loads and such, however the fact I still have one ram slot open seems to be killing me now, I can run WoW mIRC and a couple other things and degrade from 300+mb free to 10-mb free. I'm thinking I need a second gig stick so I dont have to reboot in the middle of a wow instance because my PC is lagging up.
Also, I learned that WoW and HZ relly, rellllly hate FreeRam (program that periodicaly attempts to 'free' your ram for continued use.) >.>'
